Overview
- The claims window closes Monday, July 27, 2026, and consumers who did not get an automatic payment must submit a form at the official settlement site SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com to be considered.
- To qualify you must be a U.S. Prime customer who either unintentionally enrolled through one of the challenged sign‑up flows or tried to cancel online and could not between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, and you must meet the settlement’s limits on how many Prime benefits you used.
- Amazon issued automatic refunds in November–December 2025 to very low‑use accounts; remaining eligible customers who file claims can receive up to $51 based on fees paid and Amazon has 30 days to review each submitted claim before approved payments are distributed in late 2026.
- The settlement splits $2.5 billion into a $1.5 billion consumer refund fund and a $1 billion civil penalty, requires clearer enrollment and cancellation controls (including an explicit decline option) and does not include an admission of liability by Amazon.
- The FTC and the settlement administrator warn consumers to use only the official portal and not to pay anyone to get a refund because neither the FTC nor Amazon will call or charge people to process settlement payments.
