Overview
- A Behaviour Interactive staffer unlocked and gifted all Dead by Daylight paid characters, perks and in-game currency to streamer TheBurntPeanut during a Halloween-weekend Twitch stream, according to the studio.
- Behaviour Interactive posted an apology on its DbD Pulse account saying the action was unauthorized, that the team member’s conduct did not reflect the game’s values, and that it has opened an internal review of approval processes.
- Screenshots circulating on social media show the game’s official Twitch account commenting “WE CAN TAKE THE HEAT! THEY ARE YOURS TO KEEP” while the gifts were being accepted.
- Many players objected because of TheBurntPeanut’s controversial past clips and a perceived toxic fanbase, prompting review-bombing on Steam, Discord disruptions, refund requests and some players saying they uninstalled the game.
- Behaviour Interactive has condemned threats toward staff and has not said whether the gifted content will be revoked, so the review’s outcome and any reversal of the gift remain the key developments to watch.
