- Collections run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time with roughly 4,500 locations staffed by nearly 4,000 law-enforcement partners nationwide.
- Sites accept tablets, capsules, patches and sealed liquids in original containers, while syringes, sharps and illicit drugs are not accepted, with some locations taking vape devices if batteries are removed.
- Since 2010, the program has removed about 19.8–20 million pounds of medications, including more than 310 tons collected in April 2025.
- Hospitals, police departments and retail partners are hosting no‑questions‑asked drop‑offs, with examples including HCA/TriStar events and participating Wegmans and Kroger locations.
- Those unable to attend can use nearly 16,500 year‑round drop boxes or state options such as at‑home drug‑deactivation pouches.
