Overview
- Rai and Stefano De Martino published the official Sanremo 2027 regulations on Monday, setting the festival dates for 16–20 February and fixing a field of 24 artists.
- The festival will run five nights with all 24 artists performing each night, including a separate third-night Covers competition whose result will not count toward the main contest.
- A new Serata Performance on the fourth night will stage specially designed shows and use an International Expert Jury plus public voting to name Italy’s Eurovision 2027 representative.
- The final night will produce a shortlist of three to five finalists and the ultimate winner will be decided solely by the public vote, a change intended to prevent jury-driven reversals.
- The published rules add online voting and new limits on generative artificial intelligence for songs and lyrics, and the 24th slot will be filled by the Sanremo Giovani winner to be named on 18 December 2026.
