Overview
- Reporters at Carrington on Thursday did not see Matthijs de Ligt, Benjamin Sesko or Harry Maguire in the main training session ahead of Monday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
- De Ligt has missed the last two matches with a minor knock, his return is being assessed day to day, and he was at the training ground fulfilling media duties despite not training.
- Sesko, sidelined since a knee injury on November 8, also sat out training; his agent has suggested a very soon comeback, but any involvement against Bournemouth remains unconfirmed.
- Maguire, out since the Tottenham draw with a hamstring/thigh issue, was again absent from training, with media guidance pointing to a possible return later in December.
- With senior players missing, academy prospects Shea Lacey, Jack Fletcher and Tyler Fredricson were involved in first-team work as short-term cover.
