De La Salle Order Contributes to Northern Ireland Abuse Redress Scheme

Three of six institutions have now made payments to support victims of historical abuse, with discussions ongoing for further contributions.

The De La Salle Order is the third institution to contribute to the Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Scheme.
The scheme was established in 2019 following the 2017 inquiry led by Sir Anthony Hart.
Previous contributions were made by the Good Shepherd Sisters and Barnardo's.
The redress scheme aims to provide financial compensation and support services to abuse survivors.
First Minister Michelle O’Neill and Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly welcome the contributions and ongoing discussions.
