- The Delhi Development Authority, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, approved the draft MPD‑2047 on Wednesday, August 12, and has sent it to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for final approval and Gazette notification.
- The plan projects Delhi’s population near 32 million by 2047 and estimates a need for about 4 million additional dwellings to be delivered through Transit‑Oriented Development, land pooling, redevelopment and affordable rental housing.
