D.C. Police Release New Images of Third Suspect in Congressional Intern’s Killing

Investigators are seeking tips in the multiagency hunt for 18-year-old Naqwan Antonio Lucas, with a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

  • MPD says Lucas is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court warrant for premeditated first-degree murder while armed in the June 30 shooting near Mount Vernon Square.
  • Two 17-year-olds, Kelvin Thomas Jr. and Jailen Lucas, were arrested on Sept. 5 and are being charged as adults with first-degree murder.
  • Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, 21, a UMass Amherst student interning for Rep. Ron Estes, was killed by stray gunfire, and a woman and a 16-year-old boy were also wounded.
