Overview
- DC and artist Jorge Jiménez publicly identified Verity Pennyworth as Bruce Wayne’s new butler in coverage published June 29.
- The official Batman #12 solicitation frames Verity as “a gift from beyond the grave” and sets a plot about six assassins operating in Gotham.
- Reports say Verity’s precise familial or canonical link to Alfred Pennyworth is not specified in initial materials and remains unconfirmed.
- Jiménez revealed a Verity design variant on social media and DC lists Batman #12 as on sale August 5, which is when the issue will provide further details.
- Fans and reporters are already weighing whether Verity is an original creation or a reworking of past Pennyworth figures, and her arrival may alter Batman’s emotional and practical support after Alfred’s 2019 death.
