Overview

  • The company admitted its early Reddit post blaming user handling was “spectacularly terrible” and issued a public apology.
  • All buyers of the Killswitch case will receive no-cost replacement Joy-Con grips regardless of whether they’ve experienced detachment.
  • Solution 1 will reduce the lip thickness to preserve Nintendo’s original air gap while Solution 2 introduces an entirely new attachment design pending a mass-production feasibility test.
  • Dbrand traced the issue to a 0.12 mm manufacturing tolerance error that filled the Switch 2’s engineered buffer and weakened the magnetic Joy-Con lock.
  • Users have also reported dock adapter signal errors, even as many praise the case’s ergonomic grip and comfort benefits.
