Overview

• Deutsche Bahn and VBB set 14 December 2025 for commissioning the Dresdner Bahn, cutting FEX journeys between Hauptbahnhof and BER to 23 minutes via the city tunnel and adding the hourly RE20 via BER to Lübbenau.
• From 24 September to 14 December, the Anhalter Bahn in Brandenburg will be largely closed to renew 60 kilometers of track and ten switches, with replacement buses for regional lines, ICE diversions, and activation of a new electronic interlocking to tie in the route.

• Ulm’s mayor Martin Ansbacher protested a planned four‑week closure of Ulm station in January 2026 that overlaps with a major road project, and DB said details of replacement services and reroutings will be published in October.
• A TU Berlin survey on the A100 bridge shutdown found car use on the affected section fell from 79% to 70% as bus and rail rose to 16%, with average trips lengthening from 35 to 54 minutes and high levels of anger reported.
