Daylight Saving Time Ends Nov. 2 at 2 A.M.

Most devices adjust themselves, with manual clocks needing a reset.

Overview

  • Clocks move back one hour at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 2, giving an extra hour of sleep and bringing earlier sunsets.
  • This year’s shift lands earlier than usual because DST ends on the first Sunday in November, which falls on Nov. 2 in 2025; DST returns on March 8, 2026.
  • Since 2007, the U.S. schedule has run from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November under federal rules.
  • Most of the country observes DST, but Hawaii, most of Arizona (with the Navajo Nation as an exception), and the territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands do not.
  • Legislative efforts to end the biannual clock change persist, including a federal bill reintroduced in January and a Pennsylvania Senate measure approved in March that awaits further action.
