Day of the Devs Transitions to Nonprofit Status, Launches Fundraising Campaign

The organization plans to use funds raised to support indie game developers and has announced its event calendar for 2024.

Day of the Devs, an indie game showcase, has transitioned into a fully independent nonprofit organization, separating from any affiliation with Microsoft, which acquired Double Fine in 2019.
The organization has launched a fundraising campaign on FundraiseUP to support its efforts in spotlighting unique and magical video games and the developers who make them.
The funds raised will be used to cover venue fees, equipment, staffing, video production, and overall operating costs.
Day of the Devs events planned for 2024 include Day of the Devs: San Francisco in March, Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition in June, and Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition in December.
The organization has grander plans if its fundraising goals exceed expectations, such as offering scholarships to indie devs or students studying game development and taking Day of the Devs internationally.
