Overview
- The sold-out Jan. 7 event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium was hosted by John C. Reilly and produced by Dawes with Kevin Lyman, Eric Krasno and Griffin Goldsmith.
- Performers included Brandon Flowers, Stephen Stills, Brad Paisley, Mandy Moore, Lucius, Rufus Wainwright, Jenny Lewis, Aloe Blacc, Everclear, Lord Huron and Ozomatli, with Dawes as house band.
- Organizers set aside about 250 tickets for residents directly affected by the fires, and speakers from Altadena Builds Back, Habitat for Humanity, the Black Freedom Fund and Altadena Girls addressed the crowd.
- Notable moments featured Flowers singing The Killers’ “When You Were Young” and Springsteen’s “The Promised Land,” an opening “I Love L.A.” with Paisley, and an all-artist finale of “With a Little Help From My Friends.”
- Recovery efforts continue with an online auction open through Feb. 21, as organizers describe a multi-year rebuild and note personal losses for Dawes members and Reilly.
