Davis Fire Destroys Homes and Closes Highways Near Reno

The rapidly spreading wildfire has burned 3,300 acres, forcing evacuations and posing continued risks due to high winds.

The Davis Fire started Saturday afternoon in Davis Creek Regional Park, 20 miles south of Reno.
At least 12 structures have been destroyed, including a residence in the park.
Mandatory evacuations are in place for areas near Mount Rose Highway and surrounding neighborhoods.
Interstate 580 has reopened, but Mount Rose Highway remains closed.
A red flag warning is in effect due to expected wind gusts up to 40 mph and low humidity.
