The false story, initially published by Kenya's K24 TV on April Fool's Day, has been labeled as "fake news" by Kenya’s Directorate Of Criminal Investigations.
Davido, who has never been arrested for any crime in any country, expressed his concern over the irresponsible fabrication of such allegations.
The artist has returned to Nigeria after completing his scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya, assuring fans of his innocence.
K24 TV has not yet responded to Davido’s legal threat at the time of writing.
