David Warner Announces Retirement from ODI and Test Cricket

The Australian veteran, known for his pivotal role in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, leaves a significant mark on the cricketing world.

David Warner, the veteran Australian cricketer, has announced his retirement from one-day international (ODI) cricket and Test cricket.
Warner, who was Australia's leading run scorer in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, said his decision to retire was one he was 'very, very comfortable with'.
He played a key role in helping Australia win the Cricket World Cup against India last year and has played 161 ODI matches, scoring 6,932 runs to be the sixth-highest run scorer in Australian ODI history.
Warner's retirement will allow him to spend more time with his family and play franchise cricket overseas, including in the Indian Premier League where he has been a part for 14 seasons.
Despite his retirement, Warner has not ruled out playing in the 2025 Champions Trophy if called upon.
