David Steinbrick Named Varsity Maine Boys’ Swimmer of the Year

Steinbrick's record-breaking performances lead Cape Elizabeth to third consecutive state title.

David Steinbrick, a senior at Cape Elizabeth, has been named the Varsity Maine Boys’ Swimmer of the Year for 2024.
Steinbrick led Cape Elizabeth to a third consecutive Class B state title, breaking school records in the 500 freestyle and contributing to a state record in the 200-yard medley relay.
Cape Elizabeth dominated the 2024 Varsity Maine All-State team, with Steinbrick and three teammates among the honorees.
Steinbrick plans to continue his swimming career at the U.S. Naval Academy, following a family tradition of aquatic sports.
Coach Ben Raymond led Cape Elizabeth to its third straight Class B state championship, marking his 12th state title in 17 years of coaching.
