Overview

  • He confirmed his immediate retirement on August 5 after earning 21 Test caps and playing in the second British & Irish Lions Test in Melbourne.
  • A cut heel sustained in training ruled him out of the third Test in Sydney, ending his chance to complete the series on home soil.
  • He made his Wallabies debut as No. 952 in 2022, overcame a season-long injury absence in 2024 and returned under coach Joe Schmidt for the 2025 Fiji Test.
  • As the Wallabies’ 88th Test captain at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, he led three pool matches following Will Skelton’s injury and earned praise for his quiet professionalism.
  • His unconventional career included one Super Rugby appearance in 2015, five seasons with Saracens and London Irish, and a return to the NSW Waratahs in 2021.
