- This position marks Pelletier’s first NHL assistant coach role.
- He spent the last 11 years as a skating coach for the Edmonton Oilers.
- In 2002, he and partner Jamie Salé were elevated to Olympic gold in Salt Lake City after a judging controversy and also captured a world title, three Canadian championships and the Lou Marsh Trophy.
- His appointment completes a coaching staff featuring assistants Alain Nasreddine, Neil Graham, goaltending coach Jeff Reese and video coaches Patrick Dolan and Chris Demczuk.
- Glen Gulutzan was named head coach on July 1 to replace Peter DeBoer, who was dismissed after two consecutive Western Conference final losses.
