Nucifora, known for transforming Irish rugby during a decade-long tenure, is currently the performance director for Scottish Rugby Union.
His role with the Lions will focus on managing performance staff, leveraging his extensive experience and knowledge of Australian rugby systems.
Aled Walters, Ireland's head of athletic performance and a key figure in South Africa's 2019 World Cup win, is also set to join Farrell's team.
Further coaching appointments for the Lions tour are expected to be confirmed after the Six Nations tournament concludes.
