David John Andrews Sentenced to 27 Years for Abusing 47 Victims

The 55-year-old Northern Ireland man, who posed as a teenage boy online, pleaded guilty to 130 charges, including sexual abuse, blackmail, and attempted child prostitution.

David John Andrews, 55, was sentenced to 27 years in prison, with a minimum of 13.5 years before parole eligibility, for a range of sexual abuse crimes involving 47 victims, 46 of whom were children.
Andrews used catfishing tactics on platforms like Snapchat and Instagram, posing as a teenage boy to coerce victims into sending explicit images, which he later used for blackmail and further exploitation.
His youngest victim was an eight-year-old girl, and his crimes also included the direct abuse of a profoundly disabled adult woman, highlighting the breadth of his predatory behavior.
Police discovered nearly 10,000 illicit images on Andrews' devices and identified approximately 40 usernames he used to deceive victims across the UK between 2019 and 2020.
The investigation, initiated in March 2020, led to Andrews' arrest and subsequent remand, with authorities describing him as a 'heinous child predator' whose actions caused severe trauma to his victims.
