Pierce is currently starring in the TV show 'Julia' and working on a musical, commitments which influenced his decision not to return to 'Frasier'.
The 'Frasier' reboot, which is currently streaming on Paramount+, features Kelsey Grammer reprising his titular role and introduces new characters.
Despite Pierce's absence, original stars Bebe Neuwirth and Peri Gilpin have made one-episode cameos in the reboot.
The reboot focuses on Frasier's life as a professor after his radio show days, and his relationship with his son.
