Overview
- The official report cites four pathological diagnoses: acute respiratory failure, sepsis, hypertensive/atherosclerotic heart disease and morbid obesity.
- Examination notes documented resuscitation efforts, including AED pads, an airway, a blood pressure cuff, IV access and an intraosseous needle.
- Toxicology testing found no evidence of drugs or alcohol above reporting limits.
- The autopsy does not assign a cause or manner of death and records additional findings such as stasis dermatitis, edema and a complaint of difficulty breathing before death.
- The exam was performed June 19 at Kona Community Hospital and completed July 10, and authorities say the investigation is now closed following a routine coroner’s inquest.
