David Byrne Announces First Solo Album in Seven Years and Global Tour

Overview

  • Byrne’s new album ‘Who Is the Sky?’ is set for release on September 5, 2025, via Matador Records.
  • The lead single, ‘Everybody Laughs,’ featuring St. Vincent, premiered alongside a Gabriel Barcia-Colombo-directed video.
  • Produced by Kid Harpoon and arranged by New York’s Ghost Train Orchestra, the album includes contributions from Hayley Williams and Tom Skinner.
  • The North American leg of the tour kicks off in September 2025, followed by dates in Australia and New Zealand in January 2026 and a European run beginning in February.
  • The live show will be powered by a 13-piece mobile band of musicians, singers and dancers, echoing Byrne’s American Utopia format.
