Dassault to Take Majority Control of Reliance JV in Falcon Jet Push in India

The change gives Dassault direct responsibility for Falcon warranties and service in India.

Overview

  • Reliance Aerostructure will transfer 2% of Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd to Dassault Aviation for about Rs 175.96 crore, with completion expected by November 1, 2025.
  • Dassault’s stake will rise from 49% to 51%, converting DRAL into its subsidiary as Reliance reclassifies the venture as an associate with a 49% holding.
  • DRAL has been designated a Centre of Excellence for Falcon aircraft and will host a Falcon 2000 final assembly line in Nagpur, the first Falcon FAL outside France, targeting a first India-built jet in 2028.
  • Dassault plans to shift more work to DRAL, including Falcon 6X and 8X front sections and the wings and complete fuselage assembly of the Falcon 2000.
  • DRAL remains a small contributor to Reliance Aerostructure’s FY25 results, while Dassault reports a Falcon backlog of about 75 aircraft and substantial cash reserves.
