Overview
- Multiple outlets report that Marvel told the cast on Sept. 21 that the third season will be the series finale while the season is in post-production.
- Showrunner Dario Scardapane has left the series after Marvel declined to renew his contract, and it is not yet clear who will oversee completion of post-production.
- Principal photography on Season 3 wrapped roughly two months before the announcement and the season is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2027.
- Industry coverage cites a roughly 47–50% fall in measured U.S. viewing between Seasons 1 and 2 as a key factor in the decision to curtail the series.
- The ending fits a broader Marvel/Disney+ pullback from a high-volume live-action TV slate, though principal characters from Born Again remain available for future MCU uses.
