He will also have limited entertainment access and will only be allowed one phone call within the first week, and then one call per month for the remainder of his time in group U.
Masterson still has access to the prison yard and other recreational services, but won't get full prison privileges until the classification process is completed.
Despite the circumstances, sources close to Masterson say he remains hopeful about his chances of winning an appeal and has shown 'exceptional strength of mind and spirit'.
