Danny Boyle's '28 Years Later' Shot Entirely on iPhone 15

The $75 million sequel to '28 Days Later' marks the most expensive film ever shot on a smartphone.

'28 Years Later' continues the franchise's tradition of using innovative filming techniques, following the original's use of digital camcorders.
The film was shot using specially modified iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones, with additional equipment like lens attachment adapters.
The production team signed NDAs to keep the use of iPhones a secret until Wired's report revealed the details.
Cillian Murphy reprises his role from the original film, joined by new cast members Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes.
The film is set to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025, and is the first of a planned trilogy.
