Danielle Fishel Completes Radiation Treatment for Early-Stage Breast Cancer

The actress and podcast host shared her journey through 20 rounds of radiation and the challenges of recovery.

Danielle Fishel, known for her role as Topanga Lawrence on 'Boy Meets World,' has finished active treatment for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), an early form of breast cancer.
Fishel underwent 15 rounds of whole-breast radiation and five rounds of targeted radiation, avoiding surgery and chemotherapy.
She is now experiencing side effects such as severe fatigue, a painful rash, and discomfort, but doctors expect her recovery to improve in two to three months.
The actress will begin taking Tamoxifen, a medication to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence, once her body has healed from radiation damage.
Fishel emphasized the importance of early detection through regular mammograms, crediting her early diagnosis to routine screening.
