Daniel Sanders Claims First Dakar Rally Victory in Moto Category

The 30-year-old Australian dominated the 2025 Dakar Rally, securing five stage wins and maintaining the lead throughout the race.

Daniel Sanders, riding for KTM, won the 2025 Dakar Rally in the motorcycle category, marking his first career victory in the event.
Sanders led the rally from the prologue, finishing with an 8-minute, 50-second overall advantage over Spain’s Tosha Schareina.
He achieved five stage victories, including the prologue and four key stages, showcasing consistent dominance across the 12-stage race in Saudi Arabia.
The victory makes Sanders only the second Australian to win the Dakar in the motorcycle category, following Toby Price's wins in 2016 and 2019.
Overcoming years of injuries, including a fractured femur in 2024, Sanders demonstrated resilience and skill to secure this milestone win in his fifth Dakar participation.
