Officials say there is no imminent threat to the public following the two-day manhunt.

  • Investigators traced the suspect’s movements using neighborhood surveillance, license-plate readers and drones, then found evidence tied to the killing during a search of a Darien Way residence.
  • Interim Police Chief Paul Yep said the attack followed an altercation, and District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said the killing was not random, with motive and any relationship still under investigation.
  • Commodore Sloat Elementary activated lockdown procedures after the stabbing, and SFUSD and Victim Services are providing counseling and support to affected students and the victim’s family.
