- Four-time world champion William Dandjinou won the men’s 500m in 40.849 and the 1,500m in 2:24.153 at the third ISU Short Track World Tour stop in Montreal.
- Dandjinou controlled 11 of 14 laps in the 1,500m to edge Italy’s Thomas Nadalni (2:24.215), with Pietro Sighel third (2:24.288).
- Steven Dubois earned bronze in the men’s 500m in 41.505, finishing behind China’s Lin Xiaojun, who was second in 41.120.
- Courtney Sarault took silver in the women’s 1,000m in 1:30.575 behind Belgium’s Hanne Desmet (1:30.422), with American Corinne Stoddard third and Florence Brunelle fourth.
- Dandjinou, Sarault and Dubois said the ice was very difficult and required adjustments, and organizers scheduled additional races for Sunday.
