Dan Lloyd Returns to Restart Racing for Final Four BTCC Rounds

Restart has handed the seat to the former Independents champion to sharpen its challenge for the Independents Teams crown.

Restart confirmed that Dan Lloyd will replace James Dorlin for the remaining four rounds of the 2026 BTCC season at Donington Park, Croft, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
Lloyd is a multiple BTCC race winner who helped Restart to its first series win and won the Independent Drivers' title last year, and he has been carrying out coaching and advisory work for the team this season.
Restart says it has made the change to boost its bid for a second successive Independents Teams title while the squad sits at the lower end of a close top four in that standings.
The team has not publicly explained why Dorlin will not continue, leaving uncertainty for his own campaigns after he scored Independents and Jack Sears Trophy wins this year.
Lloyd will run a shakedown and take part in free practice at Donington before racing, and he has expressed sympathy for Dorlin while saying Restart feels like home as he returns to the cockpit.
