Overview
- Enduring Legacies: Edition 1 – Timeless Frames is presented by the Shivdutt Das Art Foundation and curated by Parvez Damania at the Dilip Piramal Art Gallery, NCPA, Mumbai.
- The archive, stewarded by third-generation custodians Neha and Abhishek Kamat through Kamat Foto Flash, is being preserved through digitisation and scholarly collaborations.
- On display will be rare production stills and behind-the-scenes images from classics such as Pyaasa, Sangam, Mera Naam Joker and Umrao Jaan.
- Damodar Kamat, active from the 1940s until 1967, worked with directors including Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt and Bimal Roy, shaping the visual record of Hindi cinema.
- The opening evening is expected to feature Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alongside Rekha, Zeenat Aman, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
