Overview
- The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited announced on July 8 that construction of the 360-meter Daman Ganga River bridge in Gujarat’s Valsad district is complete.
- This structure is the 16th of 21 planned river bridges in Gujarat and completes all five crossings within the Valsad segment.
- The bridge comprises nine full-span girders measuring 40 meters each and piers ranging from 19 to 29 meters in height to adapt to varying riverbed levels.
- Situated between the upcoming Boisar and Vapi bullet train stations, the span lies roughly 1 kilometer from Vapi and 61 kilometers from Boisar.
- The wider 508-kilometer Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor will feature 25 river bridges and has over 300 kilometers of viaducts finished ahead of trial runs scheduled for early 2026.
