Overview

  • Dallmayr has issued a recall for its 'Keo Teachamp Pfefferminze – BIO' peppermint tea after detecting elevated levels of Tropan-alkaloids, natural toxins from wild plants.
  • The affected batches, produced between October 2024 and February 2025, were sold in Baden-Württemberg, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Bremen, and Berlin, as well as to hospitality businesses.
  • Tropan-alkaloids, introduced during unintended harvesting of wild plants, can cause symptoms such as fever, nausea, cramps, and light sensitivity if consumed.
  • Consumers are instructed to check their tea for specific batch numbers and dispose of the product; no refund or return process is currently offered.
  • Dallmayr is reviewing its harvesting processes to prevent future contamination and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
