• Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson were named as counselors in the new First Presidency.
• Jeffrey R. Holland was appointed president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
• The Quorum sustained, set apart and ordained Oaks during a live broadcast from Temple Square.
• The previous First Presidency dissolved with Russell M. Nelson’s Sept. 27 death, and the apostles led during a 17-day interregnum, the longest since the late 1800s.
