Dallas Wings Hire Chris Koclanes as New Head Coach

The former USC assistant and WNBA defensive coordinator will lead the team into a pivotal new era with the top pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Chris Koclanes, previously an assistant coach at USC and longtime WNBA defensive coordinator, has been named head coach of the Dallas Wings.
Koclanes worked under Curt Miller for eight years in the WNBA, helping the Connecticut Sun reach the Finals twice and maintaining top-tier defensive rankings.
The Wings, coming off a 9-31 season, recently secured the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, expected to be used on UConn star Paige Bueckers.
Koclanes emphasized his commitment to building a sustainable championship culture and elevating the WNBA's profile on and off the court.
He will be officially introduced at a press conference on January 9, as the Wings prepare for a transformative offseason with key roster decisions ahead.
