Overview

• The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at a muffler shop in the 1000 block of East Irving Boulevard, according to Irving police.
• Investigators say Cayto Rivers and Elijah Jacobs entered a restricted area, brandished firearms, and fought with business owners who tried to restrain them.
• During an attempted escape, one victim was dragged by a vehicle and a firearm discharged, striking Rivers, police said.
• Jacobs has been booked into jail on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, and Rivers faces the same charge and will be booked after medical clearance.
