Dallas Mayor Leaves Democrats To Join GOP, Making City Largest In U.S. Led By Republican

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced he is leaving the Democratic Party to join the GOP.
Johnson cited concerns with Democratic policies on crime, taxes and other issues as reasons for the switch.
The move makes Dallas the largest U.S. city currently led by a Republican mayor.
Johnson stated his approach won't change but he believes cities need Republicans to champion law and order and fiscal conservatism.
Texas Republicans welcomed the party switch while Democrats criticized Johnson.
