Dallas Man Arrested Over TikTok Offer of $10,000 Per ICE Agent, Feds Say

Prosecutors cite a TikTok bounty message as the basis for a federal threat case.

Overview

  • Federal agents arrested 23-year-old Mexican national Eduardo Aguilar in Dallas after identifying him from an Oct. 9 TikTok that offered “10K for each ICE agent” and sought “10 dudes in Dallas.”
  • Aguilar is charged with transmitting a threatening communication in interstate or foreign commerce and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
  • Investigators reported finding a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle during the arrest, which federal law prohibits for noncitizens unlawfully present.
  • Court records state he entered the U.S. in 2018 as an unaccompanied minor and received a final order of removal in 2019, with DHS citing prior liquor-related charges.
  • Justice Department and DHS officials said threats against officers will be prosecuted, and Aguilar remains in federal custody as the multiagency investigation proceeds.
