Overview

• The City Council voted 12-2 to authorize the $55 million facility at 1200 N. Cockrell Hill Road in Joey Georgusis Park as part of the deal to bring the Wings to Dallas in 2026.
• The two‐story complex will house two full-size practice courts, professional-grade locker rooms, advanced basketball technology, recovery spaces and community areas for fans.
• Joe Georgusis donated the land 18 years ago in honor of his late son and its current value is estimated at about $175 million.
• Councilman Paul Ridley and Councilwoman Cara Mendelsohn cautioned that design and construction may not meet the 2026 season timeline and questioned the project’s cost.
• Renovations for the FIFA World Cup International Broadcast Center have delayed the team’s move to the renovated Memorial Auditorium until at least 2027.
