Overview
- On Friday, Edgar-Jones told Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast that she believes she is “slightly deaf” in her left ear after filming Twisters.
- She said the likely cause was prolonged exposure to strong wind and debris on the Oklahoma shoot, which at times shut down for real storms and later recreated storm conditions for filming.
- Twisters was released in 2024 as a standalone sequel in which Edgar-Jones played storm chaser Kate Carter and the production relied heavily on wind, rain and debris stunts.
- Edgar-Jones previously said the experience made her more enthusiastic about performing stunts and she has credited the production’s stunt department for keeping the cast safe during intense conditions.
- She has since taken a less stunt-driven part as Elinor Dashwood in a new Sense and Sensibility adaptation, a move that may reflect a shift in her roles after the health concern and could raise fresh attention to on-set safety and long-term actor health.
