Daimler Unveils First Electric Intercity Bus with 500 km Range

The Mercedes-Benz eIntouro is set to transform intercity travel, with customer orders starting in early 2025.

Daimler Truck has announced the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, its first battery-electric intercity bus, with deliveries planned for 2026.
The bus features advanced Lithium-Iron-Phosphate batteries, offering a range of up to 500 kilometers, suitable for longer routes and higher speeds.
The eIntouro will be available for customer orders starting in early 2025, with a public debut scheduled for the Busworld trade show in October 2025.
The bus will introduce new electronic architecture, allowing for over-the-air software updates, a first for European bus manufacturers.
Daimler plans to electrify the travel coach segment by 2030, but highlights the current challenges in charging infrastructure as a key hurdle.
