Daily Suryaputri Tawi Aarti to Begin at Jammu’s Tawi Riverfront on July 1
Officials aim to leverage the new riverfront ritual to boost cultural tourism by integrating pilgrim services with a Clean Jammu, Green Jammu sustainability drive.
Overview
- The Suryaputri Tawi Aarti will be held at 7:00 pm each evening from July 1 until the Shri Amarnath Yatra concludes on the newly inaugurated River Tawi waterfront.
- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will serve as chief guest for the inaugural ceremony on July 1.
- Dedicated bus services from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp and a public helpline have been established to facilitate Amarnath pilgrims’ attendance.
- The ritual is organized jointly by Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Smart City Limited, the Department of Tourism, Shri Raghunathji Corridor Vikas Council and the Department of Information and Public Relations.
- Pilgrims and local residents are invited to participate in Clean Jammu, Green Jammu plantation drives during the Aarti to reinforce the river’s sanctity and promote sustainable tourism.
