- Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said after an inspection that services on the Dahisar–Kashimira corridor are expected to begin by the end of December.
- The launch depends on certification from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety, which is required before passenger operations can start.
- Officials plan a late-December inauguration by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and deputy chief ministers if the safety clearance is granted.
- The new service will provide a direct connection from Mira–Bhayandar to Andheri with onward interchanges toward the airport and Colaba.
- Classified as Metro Line 9 and extending the Line 7 network, the roughly 13.6 km route is planned to reach Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Ground by December 2026, with work on the Vasai–Virar line expected to start soon.
