Daft Punk's 'Interstella 5555' Returns to Theaters in 4K for One Night

The iconic anime will be screened globally on December 12, with a controversial AI-assisted remaster.

Interstella 5555, a visual companion to Daft Punk's album Discovery, will be shown in over 800 cinemas across 40 countries.
The film originally released in 2003, is a collaboration between Daft Punk, Leiji Matsumoto, and Toei Animation.
The remaster has sparked backlash due to the use of AI for upscaling, potentially altering Matsumoto's detailed visuals.
Fans can purchase tickets starting November 13, with accompanying Daft Punk music videos also featured in the event.
To celebrate, limited edition merchandise and a special Discovery album will be available, featuring original Japanese artwork.
