• He intentionally stepped away from commercial roles after Stranger Things to rebuild his career around auteur-driven and arthouse films.
• He re-emerged onscreen in Went Up the Hill, which opened in select theaters on August 15 and features him opposite Vicky Krieps.
• His mentorship experience with Gus Van Sant on Dead Man’s Wire included writing a scene, giving him hands-on experience of creative control.
• He will both direct and star in the project, which he identified four years ago and has now fully financed.
