Dacia Spring Adds 70–100 HP Motors and Renault Group’s First LFP Battery

Dacia aims to improve real‑world drivability without raising the Spring’s entry price.

Overview

  • Two new motors replace the 45 hp and 65 hp units, delivering roughly 70 hp or 100 hp with 50–75 mph times of 10.3 seconds and 6.9 seconds, respectively.
  • A new 24.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery debuts for Renault Group and keeps the WLTP range at about 225 km.
  • Chassis revisions bring a standard anti‑roll bar, retuned suspension, stronger brake assistance, and aero changes that cut the drag coefficient from 0.743 to 0.665.
  • An optional 40 kW DC upgrade enables 20–80% charging in about 29 minutes, while the standard 7 kW AC setup cuts 20–100% charging to 3 hours 20 minutes.
  • Dacia says pricing remains highly accessible at €16,900 with the range under €20,000, with availability expected from early next year.
